Every book in Little Bookshoppe is personally inspected and graded before listing. We describe what we see, honestly - so you can shop with confidence, especially for preloved titles.

All books graded Used — Like New through Used — Fair are preloved copies.

No matter how well-preserved, a used book may have minor variations from a brand new copy — a faint smell, slightly soft spine, or imperceptible shelf wear. These are not defects we hide; they are simply the nature of a book that has been loved before.

Book condition are shown in the flex video, please check the video before placing your order.

A note on preloved books: Even our highest-graded used books have had a previous life. They may carry the warmth of a dog-eared page, a slight scent of another home, or the subtle character that only a read book has. We always disclose known flaws — but please know that by nature, preloved means previously owned. We believe that’s part of what makes them special.

Brand-New

A new, unread book in excellent condition.

  • No signs of reading or previous use
  • Clean, crisp pages
  • Cover and corners are in excellent condition
  • May still be sealed or in original wrap, when applicable
  • Minimal shelf wear, tiny marks, or very light edge/corner wear may still be present due to shipping, handling, storage, or stacking before the book reached us

Remaindered Copy

A new, unread book that may have a small publisher mark, stamp, or line on the edge of the pages.

  • Never been read
  • May have a remainder mark, dot, stamp, or line
  • May have very minor cover, edge, or corner imperfections
  • Inside pages are clean and complete

Used – Like New

A gently pre-loved book that looks and feels almost new.

  • Minimal to no visible signs of wear
  • Clean pages
  • Crisp cover and corners
  • Very well cared for

Used – Very Good

A well-loved book with light signs of use.

  • Minor cover wear, light scuffs, or slight shelf wear
  • Slightly softened corners or spine
  • Pages are clean, intact, and easy to read
  • Overall still in great condition

Used – Good

A pre-loved book with normal signs of reading and use.

  • Visible cover wear
  • Corners, edges, or spine may show wear
  • May have light creases, small marks, or minor flaws
  • Pages remain complete, readable, and usable

Used – Fair

A book with more noticeable wear from use and age, but still complete and readable.

  • Noticeable wear on the cover, edges, corners, or spine
  • May have creases, marks, stickers, or writing
  • Pages may show yellowing or age-related wear
  • Still complete and readable unless otherwise stated
